Hi there Nikolai, recently i updated my version of java and now parts of the chess viewer are left blank. It won't show the coordinates anymore. Any suggestions?

Hi CMoB, that’s a known problem.
See this: Compatibility issue with Sun's Java 6 Update 12.
The applet has worked well with many JRE versions so I have to be careful before “fixing” anything. I’m sorry for your (and others) experience but I believe that’s not my fault.

Thanks Nikolai for pointing out the compatibility issue. I now downloaded the earlier version and all is fine again. Love your chess viewer. Too bad i cannot get it up and running on a free WP blog. As a free user you do not get to change anything in the template code.

Oh, I see. I can’t believe that WP is so restrictive to their free users.
I’m not familiar with the software but you might be able to overcome the limitation.
You can try to include the SCRIPT element inside the post body instead. Just make sure it goes before the CV section. That should work at least for the sake of testing.

And here is another piece of info that might be useful for you. To support this project (and keep it free) I opened a free Web hosting account with 110mb.com. They offer WP software that every user can install on their site and have a fully functional WP blog of their own. For example, Chess Teaching .
