In today’s game (round 4) of "Shen Yang vs. Stefanova Antoaneta" a quite exciting passed pawns race was crowned by GM Stefanova with a beautiful move 58…Rf3! (most likely unexpected by her opponent because she resigned after it). That’s the beauty of chess we love and we’re happy to have our patience rewarded. You can enjoy the game (in the applet above) for one more day because tomorrow is a rest day.

So far for the good news. It turns out that not every live relay managed to deliver the message. Unfortunately, even the official site doesn’t have the 58…Rf3 move on their DGT applet’s score sheet. I went on and checked one more popular live relay Web site and confirmed that the key move was also missing in their score. Long story short, if you’re looking for the most complete coverage you better bookmark the current page.

The real pity was that the move 58…Rf3 (which was actually played but didn’t show up on the score sheet) was, in fact, a very important one. Most of the time, we might not even notice such an omission. That’s especially true when this takes place in the middle of a game, where the only visible effect would be a delay in next move’s arrival. Or maybe we shouldn’t worry too much and all that is a very rare occurrence.

Just to the contrary. In today’s round 8 of "British Championship" there are two more games missing their final move, namely "IM Littlewood vs. GM Arkell" (11...Re8) and “IM Hawkins vs. Jaunooby” (52...Rxa3). It becomes evident that the issue is quite common and it most certainly affects the games in progress. Again “TFD Proxy” is up to the task of handling those tricky situations, doing it on-the-fly and providing the best quality to its customers.
